In line with national policy relating to the coronavirus, the Amsterdam Museum will remain closed to the public until April 1 2020.

Portrait Gallery of the 17th Century is composed of portraits which belong to the collections of the Amsterdam Museum and Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The Gallery is permanent on display in the Amsterdam Wing of the Hermitage Amsterdam.

The Hermitage Amsterdam is situated in the Plantage Amsterdam, the cultural garden of Amsterdam.

Open daily 10:00–17:00

The museum is closed on King’s Day (27 April) and Christmas Day (25 December).
Boxing Day (26 December) and New Year‘s Day the museum is open from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Guided tours are available (maximum of 15 people per group), € 90 (plus admission to the exhibition). Reservations via email:

The audio tour to accompany the exhibition is included in the ticket price and available in English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
Please note that the audio tour of Dutch Masters Revised is only available in Dutch and English.

The Hermitage All In-ticket gives you entrance to the Portrait Gallery of the Seventeenth Century, the exhibition of the Hermitage Amsterdam itself and Outsider Art Museum. Please ask at the desk for the current prizes. These tickets are only available via the ticketshop of the Hermitage Amsterdam.
